Enterprise data feeds: keeping AI grounded in your knowledge
Grounding means anchoring an AI model's answers in real source data instead of letting it rely only on what it memorized during training. Feeding your enterprise data into the model improves accuracy because responses are checked against authoritative documents, and it improves currency because the model can read your latest records rather than stale, frozen training data. The result is answers that reflect your organization's own knowledge, with citations you can verify.
Why grounding matters
A general-purpose model knows a lot about the world but nothing about your contracts, product docs, or this morning's policy update. Asked about those, an ungrounded model guesses, and confident guesses are how hallucinations happen.
Grounding closes that gap. By retrieving relevant enterprise data at query time, the model answers from facts you control, and it can point back to the exact source so people trust what they read.
Live vs batch feeds
Batch feeds load data on a schedule, such as a nightly export of a knowledge base or CRM. They are simple and predictable, but answers are only as fresh as the last sync.
Live feeds connect to systems in real time, so a price change, a closed ticket, or a new document is reflected the moment it lands. For fast-moving information, live data is what keeps answers current and prevents the AI from confidently repeating something that is no longer true.
Grounding without losing control
Grounding should not mean handing your data to a black box. The right approach keeps your sources within your governance: you decide which systems are connected, who can query them, and what gets cited.
Citations are central here. When every answer links back to the document it came from, reviewers can confirm the source, and sensitive data stays auditable rather than absorbed.
How ChatLite grounds answers
ChatLite includes built-in web search powered by Brave that is geo-aware and returns answers with citations, so public facts come back current and verifiable.
For your own knowledge, ChatLite supports file uploads across roughly 30 formats and cloud connectors for Google Drive and OneDrive, so the documents your teams already use become groundable sources. See the full list on the integrations page.
Beyond out-of-the-box connectors, ChatLite supports custom integrations and live enterprise data feeds, so answers reflect your organization's own knowledge rather than a generic model's best guess. Its deep research mode compares multiple sources and cites them, giving you grounded, traceable conclusions. Learn how this fits larger deployments on the enterprise page.
